Why Consistent Communication Matters

I’m a fan of consistency.

I’ve kept a personal blog for 23 years. I’ve been married for 21 years. I’ve had the same job for 18 years. I’ve lived in the same house for 15 years.

You could chalk it up to a fear of change. And yeah, there’s probably some of that. But part of it is that I’m a communicator, and communication works best when its consistent. It’s built into my DNA.

I’ve talked before about how to be consistent. But let’s explore the why. Who cares if you consistently communicate?

Why Be Consistent?

  1. Expectation: People need to know what to expect. It’s hard to build an audience on a random schedule. Consistency creates expectation.
  2. Trust: When people can rely on you to consistently communicate, that builds trust. They know you’ll be there.
  3. Action: When people are ready to take action, they want to know you’re still there. Consistency answers that question in a reassuring way.

Help Me!

I’m well aware that not everyone is wired for consistency. That’s OK, I can help. Let’s connect and talk about how I can bring consistency to your communication.
