Just Swallow the Frog Already

Do you ever have that dreaded task on your to-do list that you keep putting off? Here’s a productivity tip: Just tackle it. Swallow the frog and get it over with. It’s often easier than you think.

So many times I put something on my calendar and I just know it’s going to be a pain and I put it off. It feels too big, too overwhelming, and so I keep putting it off.

I let that task lurk on the edge of my calendar, mocking me as I keep putting it off. I’m actually letting it weigh on me as it sits out there, undone.

But here’s the thing: When I finally carved out the time and tackled it, I knocked it out in 45 minutes.

I put it off for weeks, dreading it—and for nothing.

Just dive in and get it over with. It’s called “swallowing the frog.” You just have to close your eyes and do it. The sooner it’s over, the better. And in many cases, you’ll realize it wasn’t so bad.
