The independent news site MinnPost covered West St. Paul Reader in a lengthy profile that covers how we launched the site and how our hyperlocal news efforts are continuing.
Here’s how we got our start:
In 2019, after several years of avid personal blogging about the (perhaps confusingly named) St. Paul suburb, someone asked Hendricks, “Oh, are you going to launch your own site?”
Nope. “That sounds terrible,” Hendricks replied.
And here’s how it’s going:
“The other suburbs near us are jealous,” Schempp said. “When they’ve got things going on in their community, they’re like, ‘Well, why can’t Kevin cover this, cover that. And Kevin’s like, ‘because I cover West St Paul.’”
We’re grateful to writer Lev Gringauz for the story and going into such detail on our efforts.
