Head Monkey Kevin D. Hendricks received the Good Neighbor Award from the City of West St. Paul for his local news work with the West St. Paul Reader.
Hendricks was honored during the City Council meeting in December, along with three other neighbors for the inaugural award.
Each nominee was nominated by two residents. Here’s a portion of what those nominations said about Hendricks and the West St. Paul Reader:
- ”He’s built a vital, community-centered platform that keeps residents informed and engaged.”
- “His work not only preserves our community’s story but also fosters a deeper sense of pride and belonging among residents.”
“I just want to say this is not a solo achievement,” Hendricks said. “Local news is a group effort, and the West St. Paul Reader is supported by more than 350 neighbors like you who make local news possible. So a big thank you to them.”
