December 5, 1998:
I decided to cement my daily thoughts in immortal type, and plaster them here on the World Wide Web for all to read. I'm doing this because I call myself a writer, and writers are supposed to write. I just hope that at times my jumbled mess of thoughts will make sense to someone, and make them think. Maybe you'll step away from your computer screen a changed person. Or maybe you'll just laugh and shake your head. I guess we just have to wait and see. So here we go. Thanks for joining me on what could be a wild ride.
What's in a name?
And with those words a daily exercise in creativity began. Some call it a blog. I've called it all sorts of things:
Daily Ponderings (original title)
ReAL Thoughts (title during tenure with ReALMagazine.com, June 1999-Oct. 2003)
Thoughts (current working title under the Monkey administration)
In a nutshell, this is the personal blog of Kevin D. Hendricks.

Support
thoughts has existed in various forms since December 1998. Since then, I've tried to provide original, though-provoking material for your consumption. This has been a free service that I've been more than happy to provide -- I probably get more out of it than anyone else. While thoughts is a free service, I do accept donations.
Since attending a private liberal arts college and finding my wife there, we have debt equivalent to the cost of a small home. Add to that the fact that I'm unemployed and my wife is a teacher, and you can see that we're not living large. I don't say this to incur your sympathy, only to let you know that any donations received will be used to pay off our school loans, not a high-dollar night on the town.
So if you like what you see here and you want to support these efforts, make a donation. You can give however much you want to, and if you don't feel like giving, don't (I'm not here to make anyone feel guilty).
