I Think I'll Keep Her
Okay, I know that Speak posted a statement saying that we wanted to give away the new puppy, but I'm officially changing my position on that. I like her. She can stay. Things haven't really changed all that much for me, except I have to do a few more odd jobs around here but they are pretty important jobs that they have entrusted to me - letting Abby and Kevin know when the puppy cries, barking at people, squirrels, leaves, shadows that may sneak in the house and bother the puppy, lick her toes while she is eating so she stays awake.
I think Speak feels the same way I do. I don't know if he likes her as much as I do, but he's pretty happy because they still let him sleep in the bed for naptime, he still gets fed everyday and he still gets pet on a regular basis.
So just to make sure things are clear: If you want her, you have to get through me first.

Does Anyone Want a Puppy?
Remember about 9-10 months ago when Kevin and Abby brought Mazie home? She was kind of a pain and she wrecked all my toys and tried to bite me all the time, but eventually I got used to her. Okay, so now Kevin and Abby keep talking about this new puppy they are going to bring home soon. I don't think I've really seen one before - it sounds like a pretty rare breed, something called a "baby".
Mazie and I got together the other night and realized that we do not need another dog in the house. Especially one that gets it's own room, a whole pile of clothes, toys we are not allowed to touch and it's own bed in Abby and Kevin's room. Oh, and it's crate is taking up all the room in the backseat of the car so they keep talking about how we will have to stay home when they go on trips.
All of their friends seem pretty excited about this new puppy so we thought we would just let everyone know that if they want it, they can e-mail us and let us know. ( Just don't tell Abby and Kevin that we said you can have it.)

Bedtime for Doggies
Sometimes you might get the idea that my big brother Speak is all tough and mean. But deep down he's really just a softy.
He makes a nice pillow.

The New Puppy Takes Over
Hi. I'm Mazie.
I'm new around here. And I just discovered the computer. Speak's been keeping all the blogging to himself, but I thought it was time to share. So I gave the ol' Spacebar a much needed revamp. What do you think? I'm still tweaking things, but it's not bad. It's time some one else had a say besides Speak.
I just hope he doesn't jump on my head when he sees it.

Who's Cuter Tie
Well, the results are in and I want a recount. Kevin had the audacity to ask who's cuter, me or Mazie. The results were split with both of us taking 24% of the vote. The remaining 52% said "don't make me decide!" Wimps. Take a stand.
I'm currently petitioning the election board for a recount. I think the inner city areas were undercounted, and I usually poll well in the metro areas. So I'm hoping for an upset.

Who's Cuter?
I can't believe I'm even acknowledging this. Kevin is doing a survey over on his blog about some changes he wants to make or something. But the last question in the survey is:
Who's cuter?
-Speak
-Mazie
-Don't make me decide!
What a jerk. I think I'll go leave a nice surprise in his Homer slippers. At least he gave me top billing. If I wrote the survey it'd be a little simpler:
Who's the cutest dog in the whole wide world?
-Speak
So go take the survey and vote your conscience. You can just pretend Kevin actually listened to me and changed the last question to my above suggestion.

You're not a girl. You're nothin' but a sister.
So, we all piled into the car today to go pick up the new kid. She's okay, I guess. She's littler than me, which is good. And she's not allowed on the couch and I am. So that's not bad. And I get to have my dinner first, which is for sure not a bad thing. They named her Mazie. I think she lucked out considering some of the other names they were tossing around in the car.

I'm Gonna Be A Big Brother
There is this rumor floating around our house that I am going to be a big brother. This could be good. I've been the lowest rung on the ladder for a while now and this could be my chance to move up in the world. Just as long as the new kid remembers a few simple rules - the bottle caps are mine. The food in the bowls is mine. The space in the end of the bed is mine. And the sunny spot on the landing is mine - we should get along fine. It's a surprise who the new kid will be. All I know is it's one of these guys.
Oh, and I know they like me better than the new kid, cuz they had my name picked out before they even met me. They are still fighting about names for this kid.
