The Other Side of Something
by Sara Groves
2004

Just when you thought pop music had to be lame and predictable Sara Groves comes along with a witty, fresh, smart album that's simply, well, pop music. Smart lyrics, a lovely voice, and impressive arrangements make for a perfectly pleasing pop album -- without the artsy pretense.

Songs like "Jeremiah" and "Esther" stand out with their quirky originality, while "Boxer" is off the charts original with its freestyle jazz. Her version of "Come Thou Fount" is worth a listen as well.

It's great to see a Minnesota musician making such enviable music.

Sara Groves,
My wife and I have greatly enjoyed your music, and have shared it with our four different foreign exchange students when they stayed with us for the past three years. This last year my wife lost her mom, and I lost my mom and dad all of them to different cancers. The Lord has used this wonderful experience to bring us closer to Him.
I have been a gospel singer for over fifteen years, with people always asking what they can buy of my recordings, which I truly am surprised to say: nothing. Once when in college I had started a Christian band, and we were going to record, but the monies was used in another way by those who had it. A second time, when I had moved to St. Cloud to finish my college, I started another band, and we played at a coffee house in St. Cloud, and it was fun, and we wrote a lot of songs that were really good, I thought, but nothing came of that either.
My nephew is in a band called "Go Fish" out of Minneapolis. It is so great to see people rise to notoriety in such short periods of time. I do not know why, but God still has not removed the dream of recording, and singing for Him from me. Still, every time I sing, people can't say enough to tell me how God uses my voice to minister to them.
If you are ever in the area, Mesa, Prescott Arizona, or Minneapolis Minnesota, it would be wonderful to pray with you.
May God continue to lead you on the path HE has for you.
Sincerely,
Stephen Wasche
