Mindy Smith on Mourning
(Filed under: Life & Death)"We're allowed to mourn as long as we want to. I think people get confused in thinking that they have to get over it or that somebody's holding on to something for too long. I don't agree with that. I think everybody's entitled to be sad about something or rejoice about something that they miss in somebody or -- there's so many things. I think it's really out of line for somebody to say, 'Well, you need to get over it.' Unless it's totally disrupting somebody's life, I don't see it as a problem. If you want to hold on to somebody until the day you die, hold on. That's fine."
-Mindy Smith, who recently released her debut album, One Moment More. (Source: NPR's Morning Edition, January 29, 2004)
