Geoff Rickly on Using Big Words
(Filed under: Artistry)"Sometimes I'll be like, 'Oh, man, this stuff is too obscure and crazy, and people aren't going to get it' -- but what can you do about that? It's just the music we make. You can't cater it, and you can't play down to people. You can't assume people are stupid. I'm not going to put in an extra chorus because it's catchy or take out some bigger words because I think people won't get them. You just have to say what you want, I guess. At least that's what I have to tell myself."

Geoff Rickly is an amazing person. His voice makes me shiver and all the experiences he has been through are really interesting. I love his music and his big words. I fell in love with his voice. ~Nicole~

I love his lyrics. It takes alot of fucking talent to write lyrics like his. I like how he said he doesn't assume his fans are stupid, because we're not. I have to agree, Geoff Rickly is a very amazing person with one of the most amazing voices ever. Man, hes my hero. Thursday rocks.

I absolutely love Geoff and his lyrics. The band Thursday is definately a favorite. I'm really sad about his stomach ulcers and the seriousness of it....

It seems like every ones caught up with appearal and the lifestyle that music has to offer!?! Isnt it about the words and melody that the band produces?
I will forever remember basement punk rock and Geoff Rickly!! Indie icon and an array of emotion scattered in your lyrics.
