Chris Carrabba on Selling Out
(Filed under: Artistry)"If we lose fans because kids just genuinely don't like the record I made, if that's the case, I'm sorry to see you go, but that's a real honorable way to turn your back on a band. I can understand if I didn't come through for you personally, if you prefer the other records. I'm sorry that you didn't like it. I like it. It's what I needed to do. I could not be prouder of this record. And if you hate it solely because it's popular, then that's not my problem."
-Dashboard Confessional lead-singer Chris Carrabba responding to long-time fans put off by the sudden popularity of their new album, A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar. Other Dashboard Confessional albums include The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, Swiss Army Romance and MTV Unplugged. (Source: Spin, October 2003)

lor, you are the saddest person online.
chris, you are a good singer/songwriter and you appear to be through your lyrics a very honest person who is in keen touch with his emotions.
lor, be who YOU are and don't live through someone else.

yo, i think that mr. carrabba and i have a very similar singing style. i love dashboard, and chris' lyrics are top notch, but i can out sing that mofo like a mofo. ya catch my drift? everytime i sing along to a live recording of him, i feel that i am out of key cuz he's so off. so i have to learn exactly how to sing out of tune to that specific song.

HAHA Out of tune?? YOU can outsing CHRIS?? Dude when can I expect your better selling record to be in stores, beucase THIS I gotta hear.

umm... loner dottie..... hate to break it to you, but i will qualify you a better musician than chris when i hear him use the phrase "mofo". i mean c'mon. that just makes you sound even more dumb. "but i can out sing that mofo like a mofo" yes, that makes me think that YOU are a better musician than chris? HA good luck with that

DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL rocks!!! i fell in love with DC the initial time i heard one of their songs! it's full of personal emotions that one may or may not be able to relate to. if one is not able to relate to one of their songs, they are still very lovable because they are full of everything that comes from the heart... why shouldn't they become more popular? why should they become rebels and do what their supposed "fans" say and not become popular? only when chris starts listening to those demanding fans, who think he is selling out, will i ever consider to stop listening to their songs (even at that, i will only consider). Besides, those ignorant fools (who suddenly stopped supporting DC because of their increasing glory) have subjected to hypocrisy by being the "fans" to begin with, aiding them to become their present egrigious status.
i love dashboard confessional and their incredible sense of expressions about the pros and cons of everything considering love and life. Their music is unique; chris carrabba's voice is very distinguishable; and his lyrics seem to come from the soul. i admire his honesty and his knowledge of his true identity.
ANYONE WHO EXPRESSES RESENTMENT TOWARDS DC SHOULD ALL JUST GO TO HELL!!!

I love Chris Carrabba!! He's the greatest guy alive and he's soooo adorable! There's not one of his songs that I dislike. As for el dorko... you need to learn how to speak english. You sound like an idiot using all those "slang" words.
Thanks! :) Have a great day!
p.s. I'll love Chris my whole life!!!
