As the Wheel Turns

So all the drama after last week's race at Bristol and it just gets worse. Jeff Gordon wants to be a bad boy (Bobby Labonte suggests he grow his hair long). Dale Earnhardt, Jr., thinks NASCAR issuing fines for swearing on in-car radios that happen to be broadcast live on TV are stupid. And everyone is speculating whether or not Martin Truex, Jr., will get revenge on Jeff Gordon who will get revenge on Matt Kenseth who will get revenge on Dale Jarrett and Kurt Busch.

This comment isn't directly related to this post. I apologize for that. But, no racing blogs seem to be discussing this, and it's potentially very important.

Do you think there is any truth to the rumor about Dateline NBC's plan to set up NASCAR fans on 4/8/2006? Some extremely popular blogs are discussing an alleged plan to place hidden cameras on Muslims and send them to a NASCAR event and, as the story goes, catch fans being bigots.

It's all over the web:

I've seen numerous chats about NBC and NASCAR - but all rumors and different sites are saying some very different things. I tried to do some searching a couple days ago and found nothing helpful - so I'm just going to ignore it. I did find a pretty funny and entertaining video of a guy named Fireball Tim who went to a NASCAR event and did a behind-the-scenes video with the Fans. Its on the homepage of http://www.cartv.com right now. I was laughing so hard!
