It's a drama about growing up with your mistakes, laced with enough humor to make it enjoyable.
Drew Barrymore shines, but it's mostly thanks to the subtle acting of Steve Zahn (Reality Bites, Saving Silverman) that balances Barrymore's extremes. If you're looking for answers to a life of family-enduced pain, this movie isn't it. If you're looking for a good Friday night movie, this will do the job.
