Secondhand Lions

Filed under: Family | Buy on Amazon

A boy's negligent mother drops him off with two millionaire, crotchety uncles for the summer.

Dealing with his eccentric uncles comes easier as he pries the story of their missing 40 years in Africa out of them. It becomes an innertwined tale of a boy's adventurous imagination and the reality of what to believe.

It's a jubiliant family movie, but doesn't seem to hang together as well as writer and director Tim McCanlies thinks it does.
